E-safety is a school’s ability to protect and educate pupils and staff in their use of technology as well as having appropriate mechanisms in place to intervene and support any incident where appropriate.
At Garnock we take E-safety very seriously.
The Garnock Approach
Pupils at Garnock school have embraced new technologies as a source of information, education and entertainment. The use of digital technology has been completely normalised and integrated into their daily lives.
Young people are increasingly referred to as ‘digital natives’ who grow up surrounded
by and emerged in the technology and tools of the digital age. Their confidence
and skills in using this technology is typically high, but their knowledge and awareness of the risks and dangers is usually very low. Young people need to keep themselves safe. Teaching your child about technology
should be seen as another part of keeping them safe, just like crossing the road or learning new life skills. At Garnock School we are committed to teaching these serious issues as part of e-safety. We promote safe practice, and ensure our policies are updated and regularly refresh staff. Download our poster below >>
